Lane Kiffin is finding his decision to go to USC a bit troubling these days. I am sure that he would never admit that he regrets his decision, but with USC looking at sanctions from the NCAA he is going to have an up-hill battle at recruiting and finding success at that program. However, I figure that he was going to have trouble anyway without the sanctions, so I will be surprised if he wins 7 games this coming season.
In case you are wondering what I am referring to, the NCAA has disciplined USC for its recruiting practices and especially the recruiting of Reggie Bush. There are several sanctions that will be implemented on USC, but the two that will hurt the most for Lane Kiffin will be the 30 scholarships taken away over the next 3 years, and USC being prohibited in participating in bowl games for the next 2 years. In addition to that sting that I am sure Kiffin is feeling USC will also be on probation for the next 4 years! This means that Kiffin's questionable recruiting techniques will be under scrutiny for the next 4 years. To make sure the kick in Kiffin's and USC's butt stings for awhile the NCAA has also taken away it's 2004 National Championship, in which they played Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl Game.
You can't help but chuckle at Kiffin, I mean you know Pete Carroll is!
